Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of the calendar?

The purpose of the calendar is to highlight games both new and old, bring more exposure to the genre as a whole, and draw attention to events and holidays that are relevant to the MUD community.

Why should I submit my game’s anniversary?

You should only submit your game’s anniversary if your MUD is open to the general public and you want people to know about it.

How do I add a new anniversary to the calendar?

To add your game’s anniversary, click the “Submit an event” button and fill out the form.

If for any reason you’re unable to fill out the form, you can try the standalone version. You can also simply email your details to Andruid.

How will I know if my event has been added?

If you submitted a valid email address with the event details, you’ll receive an email letting you know that your event has been added to the calendar.

How do I add all the events to my calendar at once?

If you use Google services, click the “Subscribe to calendar” button, which will allow you to add the calendar to your calendars page. The advantage of doing this is that you will see the most up-to-date information, including any new events that are added in the future.

If you don’t use Google services, you can download the iCal version and import it into your preferred calendar program.

How do I add individual events to my calendar?

If you use Google services, click the “Add to calendar” link beside the event you want to add. This will add the event series to your Google calendar.

If you don’t use Google services, you can download the iCal version of the events calendar, import it into your preferred calendar program, and then remove any events you don’t care about.

How do I hide or remove events I don’t care about?

If you subscribed to the Google calendar, it’s not possible to hide individual events, but there is a workaround.

Open the events you do care about, click the three dots in the upper right corner, and select “Copy to (Name of one of your other calendars)”. This will copy the event details into your personal calendar of choice.

After that, you can unselect the MUD Anniversaries & Community Events calendar to hide it.

(Alternatively, you can simply add individual events to your calendar.)

How can I set up notifications for an event?

If you’re subscribed to the Google calendar, open the event, click the three dots in the upper right corner, and select “Copy to (Name of one of your other calendars)”.

Then, on the copied event, you can set up your notification preferences.

If you’re adding individual events to your own Google calendar, you can set your notification preferences at the time you add the event.
